Native herbs and cellular cultures, which were grown based on them and are in dedifferentiated state, often differ in synthesis of secondary metabolites, that causes a decrease or complete disappearance of the major active ingredients distinctive for native herbs. However, changing the metabolome of cellular cultures does not always mean the absence of the desired pharmacological activities in-herent to a native herb. Cells of a transplanted culture could accumulate not less active isomers or different metabolites with the same direction of pharmacologic effect. The molecular test systems in vitro allows to detect the presence of active substances and to under-stand the difference between cellular and native bioregulation of herbs.
